Ipomoea Obscura is a perennial herb with slender, twining or prostrate stems up to 3 meters long and 2 cm in diameter. It also has ornamental value as a climber with attractive flowers. The leaves are mucilaginous, with a pleasant smell. There are 5-6 species of this plant. Heart shaped leaves with a blood (or black) like mark on the leaf is the one used for medicinal purpose.
