About the plant

Giloy plant is a creeper found growing wild on trees and shrubs. The plant is having heart-shaped leaves and red fruits. The stem part of the plant is the most used part and Giloy juice is usually made by crushing it along with water. 

While it is having various medicinal properties, the plant is a shade and perfect balcony decorator due to its dark greenish leaves and thickly growing properties.

Cultivation

Tinospora Crispa can grow within the backyard or pots in balconies easily. Fertilizer used should be manure or compost. Use well-draining soil and water the plant daily.

How to use

Take a small piece of a matured plant stem, crush it and put it in one glass water and boil in the evening. Drink this water in the next day morning with empty stomach. Repeat this in the evening also.  

 

The general suggested daily Giloy powder dosage is around 1 to 2 tbsps. 

Caution

Giloy juice to be consumed under medical supervision as it can lower the blood sugar levels drastically. Consult an Ayurvedic Doctor before consuming the herb.
